Ash Wednesday celebrated with pre-schoolers

Sr Albertina OSFS

Oudtshoorn, 21 February 2026: On Ash Wednesday the little ones attending Aviat Crèche in Ceres, got Lent off to a tremendous start by receiving the traditional ash cross, marking the start of the Lenten season.

The little ones might not yet fully understand the central message and discipline of the season, but eagerly partook in the imposition of the ashes ceremony.
