Oudtshoorn, 24 July 2022 – Members of the Diocesan Youth Council met at the Oratory of St. Philip Neri in Oudtshoorn on Saturday, 23 July for a marathon session of planning for the next 18 months or so. Remarked one of the councillors “Times are changing and that will necessitate also changes to modalities of youth ministry; the entire team is enthusiastic to continue the established successes of the Youth Ministry and build upon the same in future.”

Oudtshoorn, 6 July 2022 – Back in the early 1990’s advice was sought and then it was decided to take down the 4 bells that hung above the sanctuary at the meeting point of the Cathedral roof arches, as the weight and movement of the bells gradually weakened the integrity of the roof structure.
On 13 July 2022 a site meeting was held outside the Cathedral to hand over the construction site for a new belfry that is to be erected on the corner of St. Saviour- and Baron van Reede streets. It is understood that the new belfry will accommodate all 4 the original bells and will reach as high as 12m into the sky. See our Facebook page for some visuals.
Oudtshoorn, 18 Junie 2022 – Die biskop het op 16 Junie die Bisdom se sosiale media teenwoordigheid aan Vr Vernon Meyer C.O. oorgelaat. Vr. Vernon het jarelange ondervinding in die veld en is in beheer van onder andere Die Oratorium, en AfrikaansKatoliek sosiale media kanale. Hoe gerus u oë oop vir verwikkeling in die verband en dink daaraan om ‘n plaaslike bydraer vir nuus omtrent die Kerk daar waar jy is met ons te deel.
